Group Therapy

for kids with anxiety

CANTON, OHIO

Group Activity Session

Does your child ever tell you that "no one gets" what they're going through?

Maybe they know they're struggling but they never want to talk about it. Or perhaps they are closing off more and you never know what they're thinking. You may even see them turning down chances to spend time with friends.

Whatever they’re experiencing, you’ve begun to notice the impact in every facet of their life:

They've stopped asking to go to friends houses

They're always on some sort of screen

They've rarely talk to you about anything any more.

They're shutting down.

And you're worried about them.

It's time to help your kid feel connected to others their age. I can help them get there!

Group Therapy can help!

It may feel impossible now, but your child can make meaningful friendships. They can talk about big feelings with other kids. They can feel confident in themselves again.

And I can help them get there!

Group Therapy helps your kid do 3 things:

  • Connect with other kids going through similar struggles.

  • Develop coping skills that they know will work.

  • Build lasting friendships so that your kid can feel seen, valued, and supported by kids their age.

I’ll help them through this process, tailoring each step to your child's unique needs and circumstances. My approach to Group Therapy comes from a place of hope and empathy: enabling kids to connect with each other and finally feel seen and supported by those around them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are Group Therapy sessions like?

A: After the initial assessment appointment, I work on building rapport with your child by playing or doing art with them so they can express how they're feeling when they cannot put words to their emotions. I use these techniques to allow them to feel at ease so they can talk about how they’re feeling once they learn they have someone who understands. Each session is one on one with the child, so it creates a safe space outside of parent rules to express themselves that they’ve never really known.

Q: How long is group therapy?

A: Therapy groups last 6-8 weeks depending on the group focus and size. Prior to the group starting, you will receive a clear outline of how long the group meets for and what to expect.

Q: How do I know if Group Therapy will work for my kid?

A: I have over 15+years’ experience working with children and families. I’ve devoted my entire career to developing ways to empower children so they can be in control of their lives and communicate with their loved ones.

Q: How do we get started?

A: Fill out the contact form to set up a free consultation. I'll talk with you about your child's needs to make sure they're a good fit for our next group. If they are, we'll get you signed up and ready to go.
